wow...almost 5 hours after the big Team Canada win, and I can still hear lots of cars honking as they drive down University Avenue. It's like that Coke commercial, I bet they can hear us all the way down in Salt Lake right now!
What a great hockey game tho, we thoroughly outplayed the Americans, and totally deserved this win. It was funny to see how there was absolutely no traffic at all on the street (I live on one of the biggest streets in Waterloo) during the game, but during intermissions, we'd see one or 2 cars go by, and as soon as the game started again, nothing.
Anyways, after the game, me, Tim, his brother Sam, and a couple of Sam's friends drove up and down University, waving Tim's big Canadian flag out of the sunroof, and giving high fives to all the people on the street as we drove past them...it was crazy. So many flags, big and small, and sooooo much honking up and down the street.
