A couple of weekends ago, I went up to Cornell for my cousin Evelyn’s convocation. The campus there is soooo nice, and soooo much bigger than ours! I swear, it musta been at least 10 times the size of the UW campus. And the stadium where they had all the grads sit for the intro looked like Rome’s Coliseum from the outside! It was nuts, they musta had at least 20,000 people in the stands at the stadium, and another 5,000 or so grads on the field. As nice as Cornell’s campus was, I still think Queen’s campus is nicer, it’s definitely the nicest university/college campus I’ve seen yet.

Anyways, today, we played our last campus rec soccer game. We played a team that was all comp eng’s. So it was us all mathies against all comp engs...I know, I know, a bunch of geeks, playing sports? But actually, the game was really good, I think our teams are probably the top 2 teams in our division (B league – we wanted to play A, but there weren’t enough teams who signed up for A to make an A league). Both sides had a couple of varsity/ex-varsity players, and the other team’s goalie was the varsity team’s starting goalie. He only had one goal scored on him coming into this game, but we managed to put 4 goals by him. I think our team has a really good shot at winning the championship, I don’t really contribute that much to the team (I play D, and Stu, our sweeper, usually cleans up for any mistakes I make), but it’s still fun to play. Of course, the fact that we’ve won all but one of our games contributes to the fun factor as well.

And it was brutally hot in Waterloo today, it’s cooled down a bit now, but it’s still hot and humid enough that the water bottle I have on my desk is sweating and leaving a small puddle on my desk. Ugh.
